Applewood Neighbors, Let’s Protect Our Home and Historic Ditch

Thank you, Applewood neighbors, for your incredible support—calling, and the 65+ people who've signed our petition! SIGN OUR PETITION Your encouragement keeps us going. With irrigation season starting April 1 and ongoing challenges from the Cottages at Rolling Hills HOA next door, we need your help more than ever.

For over five years, we’ve worked to maintain our irrigation ditch, tied to water rights from the 1860s that sustain our property. Despite our efforts to collaborate, the HOA has resisted, leaving us no choice but to seek community backing. I launched fixourditch.org with photos and videos of the situation and placed a “Save Our Ditch” sign on my truck to raise awareness.

We bought our Applewood home in 2009, hoping to build a life here. Instead, we’re facing escalating tensions with the HOA next door, who’ve hired lawyers and challenged our efforts. This isn’t just about us—it’s about protecting Applewood’s history, water rights, and neighborly values. If these can be undermined, what’s next for our community?

Join us in asking Jefferson County for fairness and support. Together, we can keep Applewood a place we’re proud to call home.

Greg

Proud Applewood Resident
